Many do not look beyond the price tag of private schools because they do not fully understand the difference between merit and need-based scholarships and how they are awarded.

Provide a clearer understand how Expected Family Contribution is calculated.
Give you some basic strategies to maximize your financial opportunities.

How to determine the "real cost of college" and how to make private schools an option.
Practical ways to encourage your teens to stay engaged with faith while away at school, whether they attend a public or private school.
How to help your young adult figure out what they are seeking in a faith community (Quiet prayer? Involvement in social justice? Community?)
College Planning - Using the Summer Wisely
Take advantage of your student's summer schedule and get a jump start on college plans!
In this one hour workshop for students and parents, you'll learn:
What your student can be doing this summer to be a strong college applicant and maximize scholarship opportunities.
What colleges are really looking for in extracurricular activities (Hint: "resume building" is not time well spent!)
How to have a balanced summer, including work, play and study opportunities.
Why it's imperative to plan ahead (well before senior year) in order to maximize financial aid.
College Essay Workshop
The college essay can be a big stumbling block for students, but it doesn't have to be. In this extended workshop, students will learn what to do and what not to do when approaching the college admission essay. Brainstorming and drafting techniques will be explored, as well as insight into what an admissions counselor or board might perceive when reading an essay.
The Common App Workshop
More than 700 colleges use The Common App as on option for application. In this one-hour, hands-on workshop, students will set up and navigate The Common App, and learn specific techniques to begin creating an impressive application.
